Environment Community Service Program

The GFWC Environment Community Service Program encourages us to become stewards of the earth by working to preserve the world’s resources, protect wildlife and domesticated animals, live sustainably, and beautify our communities and enjoy nature. Environmental degradation is cumulative, and many scientists warn that we are at a tipping point. There is no time like the present to act.

Beach Trash Collection

Club members are encouraged to pick up trash as they visit our beautiful local beaches.  Events are also organized to pick up trash for specific needs.  We all need to chip in to keep our beaches looking great!

Adopt A Park (Russell Burgess Preserve)

Named for a formal City Councilman devoted to preservation and maintenance of the marsh, offers a scenic overview of the picturesque Cherry Grove Marsh. Established in 2004, the park has foot access to the inlet and features a boardwalk designed to protect vital marsh habitat. The NMBWC plays an active role in caring for this preserve by regularly conducting trash cleanup efforts, ensuring the area remains clean and well maintained for visitors and wildlife alike.

Newspapers are collected at each North Myrtle Beach Women’s Club monthly meeting to be used at the Humane Society!

Arbor Day

The NMBWC bought a tree and had it planted in honor of Arbor Day.  We chose to place the tree at Sea Haven which provides services for runaway, homeless and at risk youth.
